Abstract
Munchausen syndrome by proxy (MSBP) is an infrequent form of child abuse that causes high rate of morbidity and mortality, having a difficult diagnosis and manage the subsequent situation. The child is the victim of a disease induced or simulated by one of the parents, generally the mother, or caregivers, subjecting him to various medical studies, unnecessary treatments, hospitalizations and invasive diagnostic procedures that are harmful to the child.
